Labyrinths are ancient symbols with a long, rich history entwined with our own. They are found in countries and cultures around the world, appearing in art, mythology, architecture, textiles, and books. Labyrinths have been carved into rock, woven into baskets, stamped into coins, laid out on coastlines, and formed from turf. Currently labyrinths are enjoying something of a renaissance in which people are discovering how they can be used as powerful tools of reflection, meditation, healing, and deep, personal discovery.
My name is Jacqueline and I am a leading labyrinth expert. My doctoral research looked at using labyrinths as tools able to assist with the symptoms of depression.
What I learnt is that labyrinths are holistic aides for wellbeing, mental health, and spiritual discovery. They are also powerful conduits for relating with the living world.
Some of the projects I have worked on previously include temporary labyrinth installations at music and arts festivals, labyrinth discovery days in primary schools, and community group labyrinth walks. I also consult on public and private permanent labyrinth installations, give talks and presentations, and create labyrinths for life anniversaries, remembrances, and celebrations.
Drawing and walking labyrinths outside brings us into direct communication with the living world helping us access deep wisdom and healing. Honouring life as a sacred journey, labyrinths reveal the true nature of growth and transformation. Pulling us out of dichotomous, linear thought patterns, labyrinths help us find holistic solutions to both personal and social problems. Labyrinths restore balance and harmony to the mind-body-spirit. Walking a labyrinth can be uplifting, rejuvenating, and transformative.

Through Living Labyrinths I create immersive labyrinth experiences in which people learn to draw and walk labyrinths. We are located near the beautiful Northumbrian coast, an area of outstanding natural beauty. Walking a labyrinth on one of the region's beautiful sandy beaches can be a rejuvenating, uplifting experience.
My beach labyrinth workshops are fully immersive experiences. Using step-by-step guidance and lots of practice, I show you how to create walkable labyrinths while sharing more about the wonders and mysteries of these ancient designs. Each workshop ends with a labyrinth ceremony in which we honour ourselves, each other, and the living world by collaboratively drawing and walking a huge labyrinth together.
Beach labyrinth experiences can be arranged for both groups and individuals. They can be incorporated into anniversaries and celebrations, or designed as team-building exercises for businesses, schools, and community groups. They need to be booked in advance to take into account the weather and tides.
